When you think about doing what you love, fear or doubt might come in, but you usually believe that you will go for it at some point in time. Believing that it will happen in the future takes the pressure off the current situation, but if you know that you would love to do something, why would you wait until an unspecified time to finally do it? What if that time never comes because you are always too afraid, or you continue to push it more and more into the future?
Sometimes we believe that if we put our bliss aside, it will benefit us in the future by providing even more bliss. But… like attracts like remember? When you do something that you love now, your future will be more aligned with what you love because you will be in positive, blissful energy. Rather than putting your bliss on hold for hopes of a more blissed-out future, follow it now by doing what you love.
If you’re strategizing for a bigger goal, and feel like you need to do things such as take courses that you aren’t particularly interested in, or save money while you wish you could go travel, that’s ok. It’s ok to make a plan, and we have all taken steps in order to reach an end goal, but it’s also important to remember to have fun and create joy while you are moving through your plan.
You do this by continuing to say yes to the things that excite you, without fear that if you do that by taking a break or spending some money, you will be completely off track. You are meant to have joy in your life, and exciting opportunities will show up for a reason. When you say yes to the things that excite you, more of these opportunities will show up. Plans are always changing, and when you say yes to these experiences, they may put you into alignment with something even greater than the plan you set out for yourself. This goes for if you believe in your heart that you are going to do what you love, you are just setting up the stage. What about the times when you are waiting for the future to do something that you love, because secretly you’re completely terrified?
Fear comes up because we are afraid of future outcomes. What if we go for something that we love and it doesn’t work out? What’s even scarier though, is what if we never go for something that we love? What if we never know how free and joyful we can feel by doing what we love?
It’s natural to have fear tied to do something that you love. You love it, which means that it’s extremely important to you. Knowing that fear is a normal feeling can help you move passed it. You don’t need to try and resist it or think that fear is coming up for a reason. Sometimes we think that our fear is coming up for a deeper reason, but when it’s coming up around something that we truly love, it’s important to recognize that this feeling is different than a gut instinct of, “Do not go there.” That gut instinct of, “Yikes, this isn’t for you,” is your intuition talking. Your intuition doesn’t sound like a “What if?” We are human, we don’t know what will happen in the future, but we do know that when we’re in the energy of doing what we love, we attract more of that into our life.

Hi Olivia, love the look of your new website! Great post and a great read for me right now. I have consistently been putting off saving money to go on an European adventure and to buy a house because I feel like I have infinite time to do it when really what better time is there then now to seize the day? 🙂 xx
